Positive Thinking And Your Power To Expect Success

Positive thinking gives us the ability to focus on the more positive sides of our worlds within and around us. When we choose to focus on the positive aspects, we choose to expect success and complete belief in our abilities. I know this can be easier said than done, so hopefully reading this will help amp you up for better success.

Positive Thinking Skeptics

I want to address that there are a ton of skeptics out there revolving around the positive thinking world, but usually – they are pretty negative themselves. There is nothing that you can do to change these people, and they most likely will not accept your ways of thinking.

With that being said, sometimes you are better off keeping your positive thinking to yourself.

There is nothing wrong with that at all, you don’t want any other negativity in your life anyways that you don’t need!

Expecting Success For Yourself

When I talk about using the power of positive thinking for success, I am talking about your ability to expect greatness within your life.

The mind and body follow the conscious thoughts that you are thinking. If you are expecting things to go wrong, then 9 times out of 10 they are going to go that way. The same thing goes for the reverse way of thinking…expect greatness, and more success and achievement will play out into your life.

Why does this happen? It’s completely because of your brain and the energy in the world around you.

What Does The Brain Have To Do With It?

Ever since we were born, our brains have absorbed information about how our world works and what we are capable of as human beings. Always remember this, because it is very important in dealing with the results that we get in our lives.

When we don’t push our limits and aim for higher success, we are set in a place called our comfort zone. It is called this because that’s exactly how it feels…comfortable.

This can be great for a while, especially when we have just achieved some new breakthrough for ourselves and want to maintain it for a while.

It can also be quite negative, when we know that there is an inspiration to break free and do something different…but we can’t seem to find a way out.

Our brains don’t necessarily like to make change easy for ourselves because we have programmed them a certain way and that is the way it continues to see things in life. With our positive thinking though, we can start rewarding our brain and making change easier through the process of visualization or self-talk.

Why Positive Thinking Works

This is all in theory, but I want to explain the way that I see positive thinking as working in my life.

In my opinion, positive thinking is another way of saying that you expect success. When we get trapped and feel like nothing can be changed in life, that is because our brains do not see a way out due to the ways that we have consistently programmed them to think. If you don’t change them to think differently, then there is a slim chance that you will make it out of your current comfort zone and achieve success.

When we enforce positive thinking of good thoughts in our life and expect success, our brain can start seeing new pathways and connections to make that success happen.

By taking inspired actions, settling down for motivational visualization sessions, and practicing positive self-talk, we can start unlocking this new change within ourselves.

Take Action: Positive Thinking For Success

Now that you understand why positive thinking works, let’s have a quick look at some of the best techniques that exist.

Inspired Action

This is one of the hardest things for people to do first, but that is only because of fear that we have created around the success that we want. If we could get over the fear, then the pathways to success in a particular goal would be clear right in front of us.

Pretend that there is no reason for you to have any fear about a goal of yours at all. List out 3 to 5 different simple actions that you could take in this immediate moment to bring your goal closer to you. You don’t have to do all of them, but pick 1 that is simple and do it as soon as possible. Follow your inspiration and do what feels easiest for you – that is the correct path towards faster success with anything in your life.

Don’t forget – what is easy for you, is not necessarily simple for everyone else. It is easy for you because it is in line with your desires, and everyone has different desires.

Creative Visualization

Visualization (if you follow my email list or books at all) is one of my favorite techniques to use when bringing about massive change in the fastest way possible.

When we visualize, as if some goal that we have has already happened, we literally create the connections in our brain that will bring about change in a fast way. This goes hand-in-hand with inspired actions because after visualization, your brain starts looking for actions to take that will bring about that goal.

The brain does not like to be out of line with what it is programmed to do. When we visualize, we shift our programmed minds into a new state and it will help us do whatever it takes to bring that change about (even if it hasn’t started happening yet)!

In order to activate the power of visualization, sit down for only 5 minutes and imagine your goal as if it has already happened for you.

After you have done this, try the inspired action technique mentioned above.

Positive Self-Talk

Positive self-talk is powerful since our thoughts are usually on autopilot most of the day.

Studies have been done that show we have likely around 50,000 – 70,000 thoughts in one day! I think it is a lot more than that, but this is just the tip of the iceberg in showing why positive self-talk can have an impact.

When we choose to think new thoughts and talk to ourselves differently, we are influencing change within our brains – similar to how we do in creative visualization.

The best way to do this is to write out affirmations, as if the goal has already happened for yourself, and read through them multiple times throughout a day.

Summary

Ultimately, it is important to surround ourselves more with the life that we are inspired by. The more that we can do this, the more happiness and success that we have for ourselves and those surrounding us.

Experiment with the techniques and find out what works best for you. Once you find a method that works, stick with it and you can use it for just anything that you can think of.
